Thanksgiving Favorites

I love Thanksgiving so much. Sometimes I feel like she gets overshadowed by her (equally wonderful and magical) December holidays. I love having family sitting around talking at the big table and scattered throughout the house and into the backyard for flag football. Don’t you love losing track of time on Thanksgiving because for once there’s nothing else going on? It’s all about one big family meal and lots of catching up … and maybe some naps!

Whatever you’re planning to serve or cook, remember you can make a statement with the dishes and serve ware that you use. And if you’re hosting, have a blast making your Thanksgiving décor fit your authentic style. If you’re into neutral minimalism, darling white pumpkins can add a festive element of celebration while staying chic and subtle. If natural décor is your thing, add some berry sprigs or whatever you can forage from outside into the tablespace. All it takes is a little bit of effort to set a beautiful table that your guests will love – you don’t need to go overboard.

If you’re looking for some new ideas for this year’s Thanksgiving menu, hosting for the first time and planning from scratch, or just need a little inspiration, I’ve created a list of some great Thanksgiving recipes!

Herb Roasted Turkey with Maple Gravy – The star of the show with a fun maple twist to magnify all of the flavors.

Classic Traditional Thanksgiving Stuffing – I don’t know if your family calls it stuffing or dressing, but whatever you call it this recipe hits the spot.

Yukon Gold Smashed Potatoes with Crispy Shallots – Chrissy Teigen raves about these, and it’s a pretty safe bet that your family and friends will too!

Cranberry-Pomegranate Relish – Another fun spin on a classic.

Friendsgiving Casserole - This is a simple one to make and transport if you’ve got a potluck or Friendsgiving on your calendar.

Butternut Squash Pasta with Chili Oil, Feta & Mint – This sounds like a great autumn entrée option for any Thanksgiving table but especially for any vegetarian guests.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon – A super delicious side dish.

Everything Good Cocktail – That name says it all, but why take their word for it? Mix this up ahead of time and you’ll be glad you did.

Pumpkin Pudding Dessert – Here is a gluten, egg, and dairy-free recipe that pairs well with gingersnaps cookies.

Black Bottom Pecan Pie – Caramel + pecan pie + dark chocolate = this masterpiece.

Pumpkin Pie – If you really want to go the extra mile, make some homemade whipped cream to top it off.

Cheers to a great Thanksgiving and to savoring the day!
